Don’t Worry, Pats Fans: Jacoby Brissett’s High School Coach Thinks He’s Pretty Good

at Gillette Stadium on September 18, 2016 in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

No less than TMZ is reporting that Jacoby Brissett, the Patriots’ 3rd-string rookie QB who’s in line to start on Sunday, has a pretty big fan in his former HS coach. The former shotcaller at Dwyer High School , Jack Daniels, says that Brissett has been in this kind of situation before as a freshman and put an insane amount of time into preparing for his start.

Daniels spoke with Brissett last week after he got the nod and said,  “I talked to him after the game. He’s excited for the opportunity to play. He’s going to do whatever he can to help this team win. I think he’s going to be a little nervous. He’ll be ready to play. He loves to win. He loves football. He’s a super kid and there’s something about him. He’s a winner and he always finds a way to come out on top.”

Well, it might not be the most objective opinion, but I would imagine it would be a pretty big problem if Brissett’s high school coach WASN’T going to bat for him.
