Rutgers Shuts Down Tailgate Festivities after Their AD Chugs a Beer Onstage
This season, in an effort to boost student attendance, Rutgers HAD opened up a special tailgating area in the parking lot outside the stadium. There had been two this season, and everything had gone relatively smoothly. At least, until their Athletic Director, Pat Hobbs, decided to drink a beer onstage in front of the kids.
Not only that, but he chugged it…quickly.
That’s right. He pounded a beer, people got mortified for some reason, and the tailgate party was shut down.
Here it is:
Hobbs said he drank the beer to quell an “unruly” crowd that was issued four citations by campus police. I don’t know how unruly these guys were, but I get the feeling this guy just wanted to drink a beer.
No word yet on whether or not the tailgates will reopen for the next home game.
