Looks like it may be a grand opening and a grand closing on the starting career of New England Patriots 3rd string QB Jacoby Brissett, as reports state he suffered a thumb injury in Week 3 against the Houston Texans that may require surgery.

The injury apparently happened in the second half of Thursday night’s contest against the Texans, and will likely require surgery just to stabilize the thumb.
Next up on the depth chart is wide receiver Julian Edelman, who has a quarterback background from his time at Kent State.
