Colin Kaepernick Shares His Opinion on the Presidential Debate (Video)

Now that Colin Kaepernick is on the cover of Time magazine we all need to know what he thinks about the election. So on Tuesday reporters gathered around his locker after 49ers practice asked Kaepernick what he thought about Monday’s presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton.

For once the guy said something the majority of the country can actually get behind.

“I watched a little bit of it. To me it was embarrassing to watch that these are our two candidates,” Kaepernick said. “Both are proven liars and it almost seems like they’re trying to debate who’s less racist. At this point, in talking to one of my friends, you have to pick the lesser of two evils, but the end is still evil.”

Evil might be a bit harsh. But hey, this is the internet, so let’s just go with it.

Kaepernick was also asked specifically about Donald Trump’s suggestion that Kaepernick should just go find another country if he doesn’t want to stand for the national anthem.

“That’s a very ignorant statement, that if you don’t agree with what’s going on here and if you want justice and liberty and freedom for all, that you should leave the country,” Kaepernick retorted. “He always says, ‘Make America Great Again.’ Well, America’s never been great for people of color. And that’s something that needs to be addressed. Let’s make America great for the first time.”

It doesn’t look like Kaepernick is going to be backing down any time soon.
