Edwin Encarnacion hit a walk-off home run in front of a packed house in Toronto on Tuesday, breaking a 2-2 tie and sending the Blue Jays to the ALDS for the second consecutive year.

Encarnacion came to the plate in the bottom of the 11th with runners on first and third and one out. When Baltimore Orioles pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez left a 91-mph fastball out over the plate, Encarnacion made him pay with a no-doubter to deep left field.

It was the first postseason walk-off homer for the Blue Jays since Joe Carter‘s blast off Mitch Williams ended the 1993 World Series. And the Rogers Centre was absolutely rocking.

Take a look:

Encarnacion will be a free agent at the end of the season. Seeing as how the slugger has averaged 39 home runs and 110 runs batted in over the past five seasons, there was never any doubt that he would sign a very lucrative contract somewhere. In fact, earlier this year the retiring David Ortiz openly suggested the Red Sox sign him as his replacement in Boston.

Now that Edwin has added postseason hero to his impressive baseball resume, expect the demand for his services to be even stronger.
