Browns WR Andrew Hawkins Says He Cries Before Every Game
Andrew Hawkins cries before games, just like every Browns does every single year since they got their team back.
On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns wide receiver demonstrated how the NFL wants players to react after scoring a touchdown by moving like a robot, putting the ball down and walking back to the sidelines. Just recently, the six year pro disclosed to The Players Tribune that he cries before every game.
I know what you’re thinking. No, it’s not because he plays for the win-less Cleveland Browns.
Hawkins opens up about his journey to the NFL and how he was considered way too small to play in the league, and he admits that he sheds tears before every game just thinking about it.
Here’s one of the excerpt’s from the Players Tribune piece:
“I cry before every game. It’s so bad sometimes I need smelling salts and a towel just to regroup and go out and play — I get that emotional. My teammates are always clowning, “You know Hawk, Hawk’s always crying,” but if God brought you through what I’d been through, you’d get emotional, too. My whole journey replays in my mind every time I put those pads on. I don’t take one second for granted.”
