Adrien Broner Suicide Scare: Boxer Reportedly Okay After Series of Suggestive Instagram Posts (Pics)
Friends and family of Adrien Broner contacted police on Wednesday after the boxer posted a series of photos on Instagram strongly implying that he was contemplating suicide.
The first post, which came around 12 p.m. ET, said “3pm I’m doing it I’m sorry to my family and friends but I don’t want to be here no more this shit too much.”
The second post, which came about an hour later, was a photo of a handgun with the caption, “I’m going home I love y’all.”
Fortunately, after several tense hours, it was confirmed that Broner is okay. Cincinnati police confirmed to TMZ that they made contact with Broner and that he is okay. TMZ also spoke to his friends, who said he eventually took their calls.
Meanwhile Broner’s fiancée and mother of his child, Arie Nicole, posted this on Snapchat:
Broner, a former world champion in multiple divisions, has had a number of struggles in recent months. These include a public feud with Floyd Mayweather, felony robbery and assault charges from an incident last January, and a 30-day jail sentence for not showing up for a court date.
Hopefully Broner will get the help he clearly needs.
