Timofey Mozgov Owns Kevin Durant with Savage Block (Video)
Usually when you say a basketball player posterized somebody, you mean he dunked over that person in such a way that a 10-year-old kid would want to hang a 24×36 inch picture of the dunk on his bedroom wall. However, dunking isn’t the only way to posterize. You can also do it with a savage block. Just ask Kevin Durant.
On Wednesday night the Warriors took on the Lakers in a preseason game in San Diego. Midway through the third quarter, the Warriors grabbed a defensive rebound and broke out the other way. Steph Curry dished a fancy behind-the-back pass to Klay Thompson at the three-point line, and he lobbed the ball toward the basket where a streaking Durant grabbed it and took it to the rim. However, Durant did not dunk the ball, and he did not lay it in, because Lakers center Timofey Mozgov flew in out of nowhere with an epic block.
Take a look:
If you’re looking for one play to summarize what basketball fans outside the Bay Area want to see happen to Kevin Durant and the Warriors this season, that is it. They want to see the Warriors looking like hot shit, getting cocky and racking up big leads, only to get rejected at the last possible moment, just like Mozgov rejected Durant.
Feels good, doesn’t it?
