Joe Namath Calls Out Geno Smith For Not Playing Through Knee Injury
For the first time this year, quarterback Geno Smith was able to do something he’s been itching to do since being punched in the jaw last year and losing his spot to Ryan Fitzpatrick, and that was to start at Quarterback.
The start didn’t last long as he had to exit the game due to a knee injury suffered on a third down sack in the second quarter. He was ruled out for the rest of the game shortly after.
As the camera went from the field to Geno while he walked along the sideline in the second half, it triggered the emotions of legendary Jets QB Joe Namath, who took to Twitter to question Geno’s toughness:
If you’ve got a right knee injury keeping you out of the game why are you standing on the sideline the entire 2nd half? How bad can it be?
