Brandon Marshall Says He Almost Cried When He Thought The 3-5 Jets Were Trading Him
Last month, when the New York Jets were 1-4 after coming off a 10-6 season in 2015, wide receiver Brandon Marshall stated the team was in perfect position to get into the playoffs.
The Jets went 2-1 after that statement and Marshall is not ready to hop off this ship just yet. He’s stated many times before that he will ‘go down in the boat’ with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, who leads the league in interceptions.
The NFL trade deadline was at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, and while prepping for an appearance on ‘We need to talk‘, Marshall received an emergency call from Jets officials. It scared him half to death as he thought he was being traded.
“I put my head down and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m about to get traded,’” Marshall said on the show. “And he said, ‘I just want to let you know, don’t listen to the rumors, we’re not shopping you.’
“I was like, ‘Oh!’ I was about to cry, I was literally about to cry.”
Gotta save those tears for the end of the season.
