Denver Broncos CB Chris Harris: Cam Newton is a ‘Whiner’
What a difference a year makes.
Last year, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton was running over players, flipping into end zones, and dabbing all over the place. This year, the Panthers are 2-5, Cam is being run over and he is complaining about it.
“The story of my life ever since I came in is, ‘Oh well, we missed that one. I’m sorry. I’ll try to get it.’ That’s bullcrap,” Newton said, via the Charlotte Observer. “As players in this league, if we do something stupid, we get fined. … I just can’t keep accepting, ‘Oh, we missed that one.’ Or ‘I apologize for doing that.’ Or ‘I didn’t see it.’ That’s horsecrap.”
Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris has no time for Cam Newton’s whining and offered up a suggestion if he doesn’t like to be hit.
“All quarterbacks are whiners to me. So I just put him in the same boat as all the rest of them,” Harris said, via the Denver Post. “Cam does take a lot of shots. He takes more shots than a lot of the other quarterbacks do around the league. They can probably do something about that. But the way his style of play is he is going to take big hits. The only way he can avoid taking those hits is if he stays and becomes a pocket passer.”
Cam Newton and commissioner Roger Goodell have already spoken with each other regarding his concerns, according to Pro Football talk.
