Karl-Anthony Towns with the Monster Jam of the Night Over Brooklyn’s Brook Lopez (Video)
You probably already know that Karl-Anthony Towns is good at basketball. Drafted no. 1 overall out of Kentucky by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2015, the kid—and I do mean kid, seeing as how he’s not yet old enough to legally consume alcohol—was named NBA Rookie of the Year last season after averaging 18.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
However, just in case you forgot about Towns in the offseason, what with all the hype about the Golden State Warriors choking on a 3-1 NBA Finals lead and the Cleveland Cavaliers winning their first NBA title, today we’ve got a highlight that will jog your memory.
Late in the second quarter of Tuesday night’s game between the T-Wolves and Nets in Brooklyn, Towns took a handoff from Zach Lavine at the top of the arc, blew right past Trevor Booker, and put Brook Lopez on a poster with a vicious one-handed dunk.
The play was so good that it even had the Nets’ YES Network announcers going nuts and proclaiming it “a man’s jam.”
Take a look:
The Minnesota Timberwolves still are not a very good basketball team. But if they continue to build around Towns, they will be very soon. This kid is unreal, and he’s only going to get better.
