Jack Nicklaus Gives Pre-Game Pep Talk to Montreal Canadiens (Video)
On Wednesday, the Montreal Canadiens brought Jack Nicklaus in to give a pregame pep talk to the players before their game against the rival Boston Bruins.
Why? Well it wasn’t because Nicklaus knows hockey. He doesn’t. He does know winning, though. Boy does he know winning. The man has won more major championships than anyone in the history of golf. He’s won the Masters six time, the PGA Championship five times, the U.S. Open four times, and the British Open three times. If you want someone to talk to a team about winning, Nicklaus is the guy.
Sure enough, that’s exactly what Nicklaus did. He gave two pretty great pieces of advice about what it takes to win…and also snuck in a pretty good burn about his hometown Columbus Bluejackets.
Take a look:
Jack Nicklaus’s secrets to success: always be prepared, and never try to do anything you can’t do. Put that on a plaque and hang it in your cubical.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, yes, Jack’s pep talk worked. Paul Byron scored with 1:02 left in regulation to give the Habs a 3-2 win and an NHL-best 11-1-1 record.
