Odell Beckham Jr. on Bad/Non-Calls by Refs: ‘Stevie Wonder Could See These Calls’
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning urged WR Odell Beckham Jr. to kill the refs with kindness instead of bashing them a few days ago. Beckham clearly didn’t listen.
During last week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Beckham stated that he asked an official about an offensive pass interference call that was called on him, and that ref reportedly told him to ‘get out of my face’.
A few days later, Beckham is still fuming over the bad or missed calls by these refs and he spoke up about it to reporters.
“It doesn’t surprise me. Like I said, everybody knows what’s going on, on the field. Everybody can see it. Even Stevie Wonder can see it,” Beckham said, via James Kratch of NJ.com, referencing the famous blind musician.
Odell quickly realized that his bickering about the refs won’t get him anywhere.
“It just, it is what it is. You can’t do anything about it. There’s no point. I don’t know why, I shouldn’t have even brought it up,” Beckham said. “It’s always a lose-lose situation, bringing something up. Either you’re speaking out on it, and now you’re trying to defend yourself, or the other way around, and you’re complaining. Either way it goes, I should have never brought it up. It’s really irrelevant.”
