Retired WR Andre Johnson Treats Houston Kids to $19K Holiday Shopping Spree (Video)

Three months after signing with the rival Tennessee Titans, longtime Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson announced his retirement from the league.

Johnson hasn’t played for the Texans in 2 years, but he still loves the city and he reminded us of that last month when he provided Thanksgiving dinner to over 1,500 families in the Houston area.

He wasn’t finished.

He still wanted to give back to the Houston community so he did what he always does around this time of the year: He held his annual holiday shopping spree for local kids in the care of Child Protective Services.

The kids ran loose in Toys “R” Us and Johnson allowed them to keep everything they could grab in 80 seconds, which was his jersey number.

The bill came out to $19,144.58.

9th Annual Christmas Shopping Spree was a success again. Thank you to Toys R Us and the Texan cheerleaders for helping with the event it’s greatly appreciated.
