Giants Running Back Nikita Whitlock Has Home Vandalized by Racist Graffiti (Video)
The New Jersey home of New York Giants running back Nikita Whitlock was broken into on Tuesday night, but the things left behind are far more disturbing than the valuables that were stolen.
Scrawled on the walls of Whitlock’s apartment were a number of racist epitaphs and symbols, including several swastikas, “KKK,” “go back to Africa,” and “n***** lover.” It is also clear from video shot by CBS New York that the graffiti included the word “Trump,” though many news outlets seem loath to report that.
This marks the second time Whitlock and his family had been burglarized in a month. Police are still investigating the first break-in, which occurred over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Whitlock says some jewelry and several video game systems were stolen in Tuesday’s break-in. However, other expensive electronics, such as laptop computers, were not taken.
“It just re-establishes that no matter where you are, no matter who you are, this can happen to you,” Whitlock told CBS New York. “It’s about to be 2017. Oppression, violence, racism, hatred, violence, there’s no need for that.”
Whitelock, 25, is in his second year with the Giants. He is currently serving a 10-game PED suspension. However, he was already on season-ending injured reserve when the suspension was handed down.
