Chiefs Rookie Tyreek Hill Beat the Raiders All by Himself (Videos)
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Oakland Raiders 21-13 on Thursday night, improving to 10-3 on the season and pulling them into a tie with the Raiders atop the AFC West standings. But for Chiefs fans, that wasn’t even the best part. The best part was rookie wide receiver/ punt returner Tyreek Hill announcing that he is definitely for real.
We already knew the kid was pretty good after his breakout performance against the Broncos a few weeks ago, and anybody who takes fantasy football seriously has probably had their eye on him. But Hill’s electric performance against the Raiders, which included a pair of brilliant touchdowns, cemented his status as one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the AFC.
Both of Hill’s touchdowns came in the second quarter. First he darted in behind two Oakland defenders to catch a perfect 40-yard pass from QB Alex Smith:
Then, with KC up 14-3 and six minutes left in the half, Hill caught an Oakland punt backing up at the KC 22, turned on the jets, and returned it for a 78-yard touchdown:
Hill now leads the Chiefs with nine touchdowns—six receiving, two punt returns, and one kickoff return.
Not bad for a kid drafted in the fifth round out of West Alabama.
