You can take a man out of rasslin’, but you can’t take the rasslin’ out of a man.

Former WWE star Shad Gaspard was involved in an armed robbery attempt at a Florida gas station convenience store on Saturday night. According to a police report, a drunk man walked up to him and said, “Hey man, buy me a beer.” When Gaspard informed the man that “there’s a better way to ask than that,” the man pulled out a handgun.

The store clerk says Gaspard quickly shoved the suspect against a glass cooler door and knocked the gun to the ground. Gaspard told TMZ he was trying to remove the gun’s magazine when he realized it was just a BB gun. At the point the 6’7″ 300-pound former wrestler grabbed the guy by the neck, dragged him outside to the parking lot, and body slammed him to the pavement. Then he held him down until the police arrived.

TMZ obtained the surveillance video, because that’s what they do. Take a look:

TMZ also got an interview with Gaspard, during which he gives his own play-by-play:

This is definitely an awesome story. However, unless you’re 6’7″ and skilled at hand-to-hand combat, you probably shouldn’t try this at home.
