Jags CB Jalen Ramsey Calls Ref a ‘Homer’ & Implies He’s a Family Member of WR DeAndre Hopkins
With Brock Osweiler as QB for the first half of Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins could only muster up two catches for 18 yards on five targets. But he responded with six receptions for 69 yards when Tom Savage came into the game after halftime, en route to a comeback victory.
After the game, Jaguars rookie CB Jalen Ramsey ripped the officiating crew, specifically line judge David Shaw.
“Specifically I want to call out, I don’t know his name, I don’t really care for it, field judge No. 104,” Ramsey said after the game, referring to Shaw, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “By far the worst official in the NFL. He needs to be fired 100 percent, terrible, terrible, terrible.”
Ramsey made the situation even worse when he implied that Hopkins and the referee must be family.
“[Shaw] may be a kin to Hopkins or something, I don’t know,” the 22-year-old said. “He’s just a homer, I feel like the whole officiating crew they were homers.”
