Budweiser Releases Pro-Immigration Super Bowl Ad After Trump’s Travel Ban
Every year, football fans and non-football fans do something they rarely do on a normal day; watch every single commercial during the Super Bowl, because they’re usually hilarious.
In light of the recent travel ban instituted by President Donald Trump on citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries, Budweiser decided to go a different route in a 60-second spot titled “Born The Hard Way.”
“…the 60-second spot tells the story of Anheuser-Busch founder Adolphus Busch’s journey from Germany to the United States, and his eventual settlement in St. Louis. He’s told things like “We don’t want you here” and “Go back home” before meeting his future partner, Eberhard Anheuser, who offers to buy him a beer.”
Budweiser VP Ricardo Marques released a statement stating his intention wasn’t to take a shot at Donald Trump.
“This commercial shows the start of Budweiser’s journey, and while it is set in the 1800s, it’s a story we believe will resonate with today’s entrepreneurial generation – those who continue strive for their dreams,” Marques said in a press release.
