Dell Curry Proves that Draining Shots from Way Downtown Runs in the Family (Video)
Apparently draining ridiculous three-pointers just runs in the Curry family.
Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors hosted the Charlotte Hornets at Oracle Arena on Wednesday night. As you may know, it’s always special when the Warriors player the Hornets because Steph Curry grew up in Charlotte. His dad, Dell Curry, spent most of his own NBA career in Charlotte and now serves as the color commentator for Hornets games on Fox Sports Carolina. When the Hornets play the Warriors, Dell gets to see and analyze his incredibly talented, famous, and wealthy son.
Prior to Wednesday’s meeting, Steph had a little fun with his dad. Toward the end of the Warriors’ shootaround, Steph threw a ball at Dell while he was standing around preparing for the broadcast.
Dell’s response? He grabbed the ball, stepped out onto the court, and drained a three-pointer from the Oracle Arena logo 10 feet beyond the arc.

That was definitely one of the coolest things any dad has ever done. Just a friendly little reminder that Steph didn’t get his basketball skills from mom’s side of the family.
Of course, Steph had the last laugh, pouring in 39 points while going 11-for-15 from three-point range in the Warriors 126-111 smackdown of the Hornets.
