Tiger Woods’ Comeback Hits Snag as He Pulls Out of Dubai Tourney with Back Spasms
At this point, it’s a safe bet that many people who disliked Tiger because of the glaring character issues that came to light seven years ago have made their peace with him. But he’s not making hopping back on the Tiger Woods bandwagon very easy. The superstar, marred by injury over the past three years, has been dealt yet another setback.
Back spasms have required him to withdraw from the Dubai Desert Classic after shooting a disappointing 77 in the first round.
Woods agent, Mark Steinberg, offered up his take on the events, saying, “He tried to work it out last night, didn’t really get it worked out. He had treatment starting pretty early this morning for probably the past three, three and a half hours.”
It’s not clear how this will affect the rest of his comeback plans, but it certainly won’t speed them up. He’s got tourneys in Los Angeles and Florida in the coming weeks, so we’ll see if he’s in decent enough shape to get back into those.
