LeBron Calls Charles Oakley “Legend” After Knicks Great Gets Arrested At MSG (Pic)
On Wednesday night the Knicks got themselves involved in an absolutely ridiculous scandal the New York tabloids will be feeding off of for weeks. Prior to their game against the Clippers, they ejected former player Charles Oakley from Madison Square Garden and had him arrested after he got into a verbal confrontation with team owner James Dolan.
Now, to make matters worse for the Knicks’ PR department, the King himself is taking sides.
LeBron James was a thousand miles away from Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night taking on the Pacers in Indianapolis. However, he obviously heard about the bizarre situation in New York, and after the game he took to Instagram and posted a photo with Oakley captioned #legend.
Take a look:
It should come as no surprise that LeBron would side with Oakley over the Knicks. The guy is banana boat buddies with Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony, whom the Knicks are currently trying to run out of town. He also had a very public spat with Knicks president Phil Jackson after Jackson ill-advisedly referred to LeBron’s friends and business associates as his “posse.” Plus, let’s not forget that LeBron is currently in the middle of a minor feud with Oakley’s longtime nemesis Charles Barkley, and, as the saying goes, the enemy of your enemy is your friend.
Sorry, Knicks fans. It looks like things are only going to get worse before they get better.
