Ice Cube’s BIG3 Basketball League New Signees Include Latrell Spreewell, Earl Boykins, & J.R. Rider


Hip hop legend Ice Cube and his new BIG3 basketball league is really starting to come together as former NBA players continue to sign on to join the new upstart 3-on-3 league.

Last time we saw former New York Knicks player Latrell Spreewell, he was at the Knicks,seated beside owner James Dolan while being honored by the franchise. The next time we’ll see him will be in the BIG3 league as he is just one of the newest players that have recently signed on.

The rest of the group include J.R. Rider, Earl Boykins, Brian Cook and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf.

The star studded cast of former NBA players that have signed on include: Allen Iverson, Chauncey Billups, Gary Payton, Kenyon Martin, Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O’Neal, Rashard Lewis, Jason Williams, Bonzi Wells, Mike Bibby, George The Iceman” Gervin, Ricky Davis, Al Harrington, Rick Barry, Rick Mahorn, Clyde Drexler, Kenny Anderson, Jamario Moon, Smush Parker, Ruben Patterson and Etan Thomas.  Payton, Gervin, Barry, Mahorn and Drexler will serve as coaches, with Iverson serving as a player/coach – the rest are confirmed to play.

The BIG3 will hold a combine for all players in the draft pool in April. Following the combine, the BIG3 will hold a draft with each of the eight teams’ captains filling out their five player rosters. League play will begin this summer.”
