Vince Young During 2016 DWI Arrest: “Are We Going to Jail or Not?” (Video)
Vince Young is back in the news these days after announcing that he is attempting a comeback, so the folks over at TMZ figured now would be a good time to dig up the video from his DWI arrest last year. And it’s pretty hard to blame them, because as far as athlete arrest videos go, this one is pretty entertaining.
In case you don’t remember, Young was pulled over on January 24, 2016, because officers thought he was driving erratically. In the beginning of the video he’s pretty cooperative. However, he balks when the officer asks him to get out of his truck, and it’s all downhill once the officer starts asking Young to perform field sobriety tests.
The best part comes at the 1:20 mark, where Young loses his patience and basically just throws in the towel, asking, “are we going to jail or not?”
As it turns out the answer was yes. They were going to jail. Take a look:
It was eventually determined that Vince Young had a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit. However, he cut a plea deal and got away with just 18 months probation. Now his agent is talking to the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. So it’s just a good old-fashioned feel-good story.
