Greg Hardy MMA Update: EX-NFL Player Trains with Antonio Silva in Hopes of One Day Beating People Up Professionally (Video)
The Dallas Cowboys took a ton of criticism for signing Greg Hardy prior to the 2015 season. When the Cowboys decided not to re-sign Hardy prior to the 2016 season, not one team in the NFL wanted anything to do with the guy. As a result, even though the man is just 28 years old and still in his athletic prime, it looks like Hardy’s NFL career is over.
But hey, that’s what happens when you beat the shit out of your girlfriend.
So what’s Greg Hardy up to these days? He’s training to be an MMA fighter. I guess he figured if he’s going to beat people up, he’s going to do it well, and he’s going to get paid for it.
According to a new report from TMZ, Hardy has been training with former Brazilian heavyweight Antonio “Big Foot” Silva and the American Top Team down in Florida. Their sources say Hardy is taking MMA “very seriously,” that he has been “winning over people” at the gym, and that “fighters and the coaches really like him.”
TMZ also obtained some footage of Hardy in action:
There’s still no idea when Hardy might make his professional MMA debut. With guys like Jay Glazer vowing to do everything in his power to thwart Hardy’s MMA career, it may be a while.
