Lonzo Ball’s Dad Believes He Should Be #1 Pick in Draft Because He Makes Everyone Better (Video)
It’s apparently clear that if you put a microphone in front of Lavar Ball’s face, he will burn it up with hot takes about his kids—what they deserve, who they should play for, and who they are better than right now.
Washington Huskies guard Markelle Fultz has been rumored to be the #1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, but at least one person believes it shouldn’t be him.
Lavar Ball, the father of UCLA phenom Lonzo Ball, thinks his son is worthy of taking that top spot in the draft and explains why.
“Lonzo should be No. 1 because he’s the only player in the draft that can make everyone else around him better, as you can see that with UCLA,” Ball said, according to Andrew Joseph of For The Win. “Why shouldn’t he be No. 1? He’s earned it. Nobody else is playing like him. Nobody else is doing what he’s doing. He’s selling out arenas. He’s making all his players better. Why shouldn’t he be No. 1? How do you start your franchise without that guy?”

Lavar has stated already he wants Lonzo to be a member of the Lakers, along with his other two boys that are currently in high school.
