LaVar Ball: ‘I Would Kill Michael Jordan 1-on-1’ In My Heyday
LaVar Ball, the father of UCLA phenom Lonzo Ball, has said a bunch of questionable things in the last few weeks, but his most recent comments may have taken the cake.
His newest comments involve him (apparently) being able to absolutely destroy Michael Jordan 1-on-1 back in his heyday.
“Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one,” he told Josh Peter of USA TODAY Sports.
“I would just back (Jordan) in and lift him off the ground and call a foul every time he fouls me when I do a jump hook to the right or the left. He cannot stop me one-on-one. He better make every shot ’cause he can’t go around me. He’s not fast enough. And he can only make so many shots outside before I make every bucket under the rim.”
LaVar’s growing list of brash declarations also included his son Lonzo being better than two-time MVP Stephen Curry and his sons being better than Jordan at some point.
“Now in a game of five-on-five, (Jordan) might do some damage,” Ball added. “But I’m going to do some damage too.”
LaVar Ball averaged 2.2 points per game for Washington State in 1987-88. Not sure if this was the heyday he was speaking about.
