Suns’ Starting Lineup Last Night Was Younger Than Most Sweet 16 Teams!
It’s that time of year, where teams either jockey for higher seeds in the playoffs, scramble to get that 8th spot, or just call it a season while working on developing players or tanking to get draft pics. Phoenix fell into the latter camp last night, sending out a starting five that wasn’t just REALLY young. It was the youngest starting five to ever take the floor in an NBA game.
Here’s how starters Tyler Ulis (21), Devin Booker (20), Derrick Jones Jr. (20), Marquese Chriss (19) and Alex Len (23) all stacked up against the teams in night one of the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16, courtesy of ESPN:

That’s, uh, young.
Did it pay off? It depends on what your end game is. They lost handily to the worst team in the league, the Nets. So yeah, it probably accomplished the Suns’ goal of getting a better draft pick and one more really, really young player.
