John Cena Meets with Young Fan Who Uses Him as Motivation During Physical Therapy Sessions (Videos)
WWE superstar John Cena is an awesome dude who has granted over 500 wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. That’s almost twice as much as any other celebrity. And it’s not counting the wishes he grants on his own.
After Sunday night’s WWE Live event in Raleigh, Cena took the time to meet one of his biggest fans backstage. It wasn’t for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The meeting wasn’t set up by the WWE. It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. And it was awesome.
In the video below, Justin Marion tells Cena that his son uses the wrestler as his motivation during physical therapy sessions.
“You’re the reason why he’s able to use this arm right here,” Marion says.
Take a look:
Earlier in the evening, Marion’s son was ecstatic just seeing Cena enter the ring:
According to the description Marion posted with the videos on YouTube, he had purchased a premium meet-and-greet package for himself and his son. However, Cena was not included among the WWE stars they were guaranteed to meet.
Amazingly, Cena spotted him sitting ringside and tossed the kid his shirt and wristband. But if they were going to meet his son’s hero, they needed some help.
As Marion explains in a post on reddit, they got that help from AJ Styles, ironically enough Cena’s opponent that night.
“Actually AJ Styles arranged this,” Marion writes. “He saw us standing around, and asked if we wanted a picture. Of course we said, “Yes!” Then he asked if we got to see everyone. I told him everyone but my sons favorite, John Cena. He then told us to follow him, and took us backstage to the locker room. That’s when he went and got Cena for us!!”
Marion just could not stop gushing about how much this simple act of kindness meant to him and his son.
“The fact he made time for my son AFTER the event, speaks a lot,” Marion explains. “It was late, and I’m sure he was ready to leave. My son’s life has been changed, and I’m forever grateful for his time.”
This is just a fantastic story. It serves as a perfect reminder to pro athletes that it doesn’t take much to touch people’s lives.
