Steve Francis Dodges Jail Time in Burglary Case
After striking a deal with prosecutors, former NBA star Steve Francis will be avoiding a jail sentence for a burglary charge he was hit with.
According to TMZ, the case against him alleged that he broke into a stranger’s BMW and stole $1,700 worth of stuff out of the car.
As part of the agreement, Francis must serve 50 hours of community service, undergo drug and alcohol counseling, and submit to general supervision for a year.
The former NBA player has made headlines for all the wrong reasons since his retirement, often appearing drunk on camera at clubs, and constantly in disputes with others. However, should he live up to his end of the bargain with prosecutors, his charges will be dropped after a year.
