J.J. Watt Pays Surprise Visit to Fourth Grade Teacher, and It’s Adorable (Video)
Houston Texans superstar J.J. Watt has a special place in his heart for his fourth grade teacher, who always told him he could do anything he put his heart to. So when Watt found out Mrs. Keefe was retiring after 41 years, he decided to pay her a special visit.
On Monday Watt showed up at Mrs. Keefe’s school in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and presented her with a retirement cake, a pair of his signature Reebok shoes, and a trip for her and her husband to Houston to watch his Charity Classic softball game.
“Boys and girls, I’d like to introduce you to J.J. Watt, as if you don’t know him,” Keefe told her current fourth grade students after Watt just showed up. “Remember, when he was your age, he looked up at me with those baby blues, and what he said to me, he said, ‘I wanna be a Badger.’ And I said, ‘boy you’re going to have to work hard.’ ‘I really wanna do it!’ Look where he is now! You can do whatever you want to do. Whatever you want to do, you can do it.”
Watt, the savvy social media user that he is, broadcast the surprise meeting on Facebook Live.

Hats off to J.J. Watt for calling attention to the difference teachers make in their students’ lives. Remember, not all heroes wear uniforms!
