All-Pro Running Back David Johnson Throws Out Horrendous First Pitch at D-Backs Game (Video)
If you hand David Johnson a ball he can do some pretty impressive stuff. Just don’t expect him to throw, catch, or hit a ball with any degree of competency.
The Arizona Cardinals running back stopped by Chase Field on Thursday to take batting practice with the Arizona Diamondbacks and throw out the first pitch prior to their game against the San Francisco Giants. It did not go well!
Johnson may have rushed for 1,239 yards on the gridiron last year, earning himself First-Team All-Pro honors and a trip to the Pro Bowl. But when it comes to baseball, boy does he suck.
In the batting cage Johnson made some decent contact here and there, but he definitely didn’t hit any out of the park.
The Diamondbacks’ social media team thinks it may have had something to do with his unorthodox grip:

Whatever the cause of Johnson’s lack of homers, we know for sure all that hacking wore him out, because his first pitch was an abomination:

Something tells me Bruce Arians isn’t going to be designing any trick plays that involve David Johnson throwing the football.
