Cubs-Brewers Game Delayed by Runaway Inflated Condom (Video)
It can be hard to find reasons to get excited about April baseball when your team sucks. Fortunately, some resourceful Milwaukee Brewers fans managed to find something to get excited about during Sunday’s 7-4 loss to the world champion Chicago Cubs.
During the bottom of the second inning, with the Cubs already out to a commanding 5-0 lead over the Brew Crew, somebody at Miller Park decided to inflate a condom like a balloon. And because the baseball gods were feeling cheeky, that prophylactic balloon eventually made it’s way out into the middle of the field.
Since nobody wants to see a player sprain an ankle on an inflated condom, the game had to be halted while second base umpire Jeff Nelson ran out and popped the runaway rubber with his cleat.
Fans gave Nelson a nice ovation for his efforts. And Nelson was more than happy to give them a tip of his cap.

Who knows what Brewers fans will be doing when their team is 20 games out of first place by mid August. But it’s nice to see that, for now at least, they’ve found a way to keep themselves occupied.
