Jim Harbaugh Gave the Pope a Helmet and Some Air Jordans
Sure, for just about every American, getting a Michigan helmet from their iconic Jim Harbaugh and a pair of sick Air Jordans would be awesome. But when you gift those two items to the Pope, even if you happen to be the Michigan coach—ESPECIALLY if you’re the Michigan coach—the gesture seems a little tone deaf.
At the very least, it’s good for a pretty funny photo op, though!

Harbaugh is in Rome with some players on a “tour,” whatever that means. I guess it’s a diplomatic trip to get people to hate Ohio State, which is funny, because I’m not sure Europe is the first place I’d start.
Of course, it’s possible, but not likely, that Harbaugh knew EXACTLY what he was doing with these gifts:
Jim Harbaugh giving the Pope a Michigan helmet is perhaps the greatest troll of Notre Dame ever.
