14-Year-Old Cancer Survivor To Announce Ravens’ 1st Pick At NFL Draft (VIDEO)
At Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C, 14-year-old T.J. Onwuanibe is known as ”the kid with the football.” But on Thursday, he’ll have to add to that nickname, “the kid with the draft pick,” as he’ll be announcing the 1st-round pick for the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens confirmed this on Saturday in coordination with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Onwuanibe was informed on Friday during an assembly at McDonogh School, when a video from coach John Harbaugh played on the auditorium screen in front of his peers.

“I heard that you asked Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic to send you to the NFL draft, and your wish is to announce the Ravens’ first pick,” Harbaugh said. “Well, great news. Next week, your wish will be granted in Philadelphia at the draft. How about that!”
Onwuanibe was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in February 2015, but that cancer is now in remission.
