Most of the internet spent Thursday firing off tweets making fun of Lonzo Ball‘s new signature “Big Baller Brand” sneaker, which looks awful and costs an insane $495. However, it turns out not everyone thinks these things are ridiculous.

First Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennet announced that he plans to buy a couple pairs. Then retired wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson announced that he wanted a pair, too:

In fact, judging from this pic he posted on Instagram, he did buy a pair:

“We don’t hesitate to support high end brands & their prices don’t hesitate to support those building from the ground up,” Johnson says in the caption.

Apparently nobody told Chad Johnson that just because something is expensive, that doesn’t make it “high end.” Big Baller Brand also sells t-shirts for $50, but guess what? They’re still just t-shirts.

Also, enough with this nonsense about how the big shoe companies “exploit” athletes. Michael Bennett actually used the phrase “slaves to the system.”

Dude, these companies give athletes millions of dollars to put their names on sneakers. If you think that is slavery, you’ve lost touch with reality.
