Rapper Wale Called Out LaVar Ball For Insulting People Who Can’t Afford His Son’s Signature Shoe
There was heavy buzz online when Big Baller Brand dropped NBA star prospect Lonzo Ball’s first signature shoe, the ZO2 Prime. The look of the shoe had people talking, but even more people were talking about the outrageous $495 price tag.
Shortly after the ZO2 Prime went public, LaVar took to Twitter and threw shots at the many people complaining about the price with a condescending tweet.
Big Baller’s loose! If you can’t afford the ZO2’S, you’re NOT a BIG BALLER!

That post didn’t sit well with a lot of people who took it as a callous dismissal of Lonzo’s fans who can’t afford his shoes. Rapper Wale had seen enough and spoke up about it.
“What about the kids that look up to your son?” Wale asked. Then he invoked the name of the greatest basketball player of all-time to drive home his point. “Mike never insulted ppl who couldn’t afford his kicks.”
He then responded to a few fans who had something to say about him defending people who couldn’t afford to buy Lonzo’s shoes.
I’m not about insulting children . That’s weak AF. Even if they expensive u don’t have to rub it in people face . Period . Grow up https://t.co/tamJiXeaMi
