Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes Shares Offensive Email He Received From a Fan About His Hair: ‘Get To The Barber’
Back in November, Nigel Hayes posted a lengthy message on social media where he opened up about the racial discrimination he and others have experienced at his university after a fan was spotted at a Badgers home football game against Nebraska wearing a President Barack Obama mask with a noose tied around his neck. That fan was not even asked to leave the stadium.
“Our experiences are not shielded by the ‘W’ we wear on our chest, our experiences are one in the same,” Hayes wrote. “We are loved during competition, but then subjected to racial discrimination in our everyday lives too.”

Fast forward to May and Hayes has graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a major in business finance, and the discrimination has reared its ugly head again after a fan sent an offensive email to him suggesting that he needs to change his hairstyle.
I guess a black male’s naturally dreaded hair in a ponytail isn’t fit for NBA teams/communities. As well as, it seems, professional society. pic.twitter.com/9zdnyygyR9

Not shocking whatsoever is the fact that the same fan, Jennie, praised the hair-do of another player on the squad, but this guy was Caucasian.
