Preds Fan Drove 550+ Miles w/ Vacuum Sealed Catfish, Hid In Shorts, Arrested After Throwing It On Ice

I bet this seemed like a great idea at the time.

During game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators, a fan decided to hurl a dead catfish on the ice for his and others’ amusement.

From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

“Jacob Waddell, of Nolensville, Tenn., “obtained” the catfish in Tennessee and vacuum-sealed it, according to a criminal complaint.

He then hid the fish in his compression shorts when he entered PPG Paints Arena. Once inside, he went to a restroom, pulled the fish out, and then wrapped it in a free T-shirt and towel he’d received earlier until he could throw the fish onto the ice.”

It quickly backfired on him after Pittsburgh cops arrested him.

“Waddell was immediately escorted out of the building — and now, prosecutors in Pittsburgh have charged him with disorderly conduct, possessing instruments of crime and disrupting meetings/processions.

It’s kind of a big deal — if convicted on all counts he could face around 6 years behind bars. “

It still didn’t stop him from bragging about it online.
