Seahawks Sign QB Austin Davis, Not Colin Kaepernick, To Back Up Russell Wilson
After meeting with free agent QB Colin Kaepernick, the Seattle Seahawks have finally decided on a back-up QB.
It’s not Colin Kaepernick, though. Rather, it’s Austin Davis.
Kaepernick drew rave reviews from the Seahawks, but ultimately head coach Pete Carroll decided to go elsewhere as he saw Kaep as a ‘starter in this league’, as he described last week.
Austin Davis, however, didn’t appear in a game last year for the Denver Broncos. He played three games, starting two of them, for the Cleveland Browns in 2015, throwing 1 TD and 3 interceptions. Davis threw for 2,001 yards as a member of the St. Louis Rams in 2014, adding 12 TD’s and 9 INT’s.
