Andre Iguodala Implies Trump Might Be Impeached By The Time Warriors Decide on White House Visit
Shortly after winning their second title in three years, it was reported that the Golden State Warriors voted unanimously to skip the customary presidential visit. That report has since been shot down by the team.
Andre Iguodala was really outspoken about it when he spoke with Sam Amick of USA Today regarding the potential of a White House visit.
“Hell nah,” he told USA Today’s Sam Amick ahead of Game 5 on Monday about taking part in a White House visit.
When asked about the Warriors’ decision, Iguodala explained that the squad would follow the lead of Stephen Curry, and implied that Trump might be impeached if an offer to visit ever came to them.
“We’re going to do what our leader (Curry) does,” Iguodala said. “I think we handle (the White House situation) when it gets there. I mean, it may be different. There might be somebody different in (office). That’s a realistic thing to say though, right? So you don’t know what’s going to happen.”
The 33-year-old veteran stated the best-case scenario would be for the President to not even send an invite to avoid future headaches and unnecessary headlines.
“Maybe (Trump) doesn’t (invite us) and we don’t go, or we don’t say anything and make a big deal of it, and he doesn’t make a big deal of it and we go our separate ways. Y’all might write about it. I might call him and say, ‘If they ask, just say our schedules conflicted.’ And then if y’all write something, we’ll say, ‘Fake News.’”
