REPORT: Vikings WR Michael Floyd Tests Positive for Alcohol, Could Face Jail Time
If you had Michael Floyd on your list of possible fantasy football sleepers, you can scratch him off right about now. The Minnesota Vikings receiver could be facing jail time after he tested positive for alcohol, violating the terms of his probation.
After being arrested for DUI last December in Arizona, Floyd was sentenced to 24 days in jail, and another 96 days of house arrest. The sentence was handed down back in February, just 12 days after Floyd had won the Super Bowl as a member of the New England Patriots.
Part of the sentence also involved Floyd remaining alcohol-free. He violated that part after failing a test on June 11. Floyd will now have to appear in court on June 26 to explain why he tested positive for alcohol. If his excuse isn’t good enough, he could be sent back to jail for violating the terms of his probation.
