In 11 NFL seasons with the Chargers, Saints, and now the Eagles, three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro Darren Sproles has evolved into one of the most versatile offensive weapons in football, equally dangerous at rubbing back, wide receiver, or punt returner.

I bring this up because today is Sproles’ 34th birthday. And judging by the way they’ve chosen to celebrate Darren Sproles’ birthday, the Philadelphia Eagles are very glad to be his current employer.

The Eagles tweeted out a video this morning of a young Darren Sproles playing Pop Warner football 25 years ago. And it turns out not a whole lot has changed. Even back then, little Darren wore no. 43. And even back then he absolutely DOMINATED, making opposing defenders look completely helpless.

Check it out:

Darren Sproles didn’t get drafted until the fourth round because teams were nervous he was too small. But I bet if you go find those kids he played against back in the day, they’ll all say they knew he was going to be an NFL star.
