Keith Hernandez, the former Mets third baseman and coke addict who currently serves as color analyst for Mets broadcasts on SportsNet New York, got burned by a hot mic on Monday night.

During a commercial break early in Monday’s game between the Mets and Dodgers, Hernandez was informed by broadcast partner Gary Cohen that Washington Nationals pitcher Tanner Roark had been chased from his start against the Miami Marlins after only three innings. This news in turn prompted Hernandez to observe that “Roarke’s been getting his tits lit.” And everyone watching the game at home heard Hernandez say this, because the broadcast was in fact back from its commercial break.

Have a listen:

Whoops! At least this time Keith can legitimately claim he did not realize he was on the air. In 2015, he dropped an F-bomb when he knew damed well the mic was hot:

Of course, even if Hernandez did know the mic was hot, he still wouldn’t be fired. He’s Keith Hernandez! He helped the Mets win the World Series in 1986. Dude would probably have to murder somebody on the air to get fired.
