Floyd Mayweather May Be Old, But He’s Still Fast AF (Video)
Early on in his career Floyd Mayweather was a knockout artist. Of his first 25 wins, 17 came via KO or TKO.
After that things changed. In an effort to protect his hands, Mayweather transformed himself into a defensive specialist. As a result, of his last 24 wins, only five have come via KO or TKO. The rest have all been decision victories, and 14 of those have been unanimous, which pretty damned impressive.
Of course, Floyd wouldn’t have been able to make the transition from knockout artist to defensive specialist if not for his blazing speed. It makes him both difficult to punch and an effective counter-puncher.
As you probably know, Mayweather is currently training for his comeback against UFC superstar Conor McGregor. At the age of 40 time is not exactly on his side. However, you’d never know it from the training video he published on Instagram on Thursday. While he admits in the caption that he’s not the same fighter he was 20, 10, or even five years ago, he still looks pretty f-ing fast to me.
Take a look:
If I were Conor McGregor I’d be very concerned.
