Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert Makes Dumb Joke About NBA Finals Loss, Gets ROASTED By Cavs Fans (TWEETS)

When you’re the owner of a sports franchise that is coming off a heartbreaking loss in the championship game or series, you should probably steer clear of joking about that loss for at least a full 2 to 3 months.  Anything sooner than that is probably too soon for your team’s fan base, as Cavs owner Dan Gilbert learned on Monday.

While the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Summer League squad was busy beating up on the Golden State Warriors’ Summer League team, Gilbert thought it would be a good idea to post the following tweet:

 

Get it? The Warriors won the NBA Finals series, 4-1, but the Cavs were winning this meaningless Summer League game. So Gilbert thought it would be a good idea to (jokingly) propose that the two teams extend the series to a best-of-nine.

He was wrong.
