Former Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams Says Tom Brady Is A System QB & Plays In A Weak Division
DeAngelo Williams has been on an absolute tear today.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers RB spoke with ESPN’s Adam Schefter on his “Know Them From Adam” podcast on Wednesday. During his interview, he revealed a bunch of things, including the four teams he does not want to play for—the Browns, Panthers, Jaguars, and Cowboys
After taking shots at all four of those teams, Williams then turned his attention to QB Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. When asked how the Patriots didn’t make it on his list of teams he won’t play for (given the rivalry between the Pats-Steelers), Williams had this to say:
“It’s kind of one of those things, man. It wasn’t the Patriots because there wasn’t a lot of hatred there. I was speaking on the side of being right. You look at all of the championship rings that they have. You can’t deny the fact that they win.”
While complementing them, he couldn’t help but to take some not-so-subtle shots as well.
“Whether it’s them being in a weak division,” he said. “Whether it’s Tom Brady being a system quarterback. Whatever, the fact is that they continue to win and they win on a consistent basis. I’m in the business of winning.”
He might as well add them to his list because the Pats are definitely not calling him after those comments.
