Ronda Rousey Appearance at WWE Event Sparks More Rumors of Switch to Wrestling (Tweets)
From 2012 to 2015, Ronda Rousey was arguably the UFC’s biggest star. However, the loss to Holly Holm in November 2015 sent Rousey into hiding for months. When Amanda Nunes squashed her comeback attempt in just 48 seconds this past December, it pretty much wiped Rousey off the MMA map.
Now people are speculating Rousey might soon make the jump from MMA to professional wrestling.
Earlier this month the UFC held a “Women of UFC” panel as part of their “International Fight Week” series ahead of UFC 213 in Las Vegas. Rousey, formerly one of the biggest names in the sport, a woman who was unbeatable for five years, did not attend.
On Tuesday the WWE began filming for the Mae Young Classic, an all-female tournament (the first of its kind) that will feature 32 of its biggest stars. And there was Rousey as a “special guest.”

If her appearances with the WWE this week is an indication that she intends to focus more on wrestling from here on out, we wish her the best of luck with that.
