Al Pacino Lookin’ Like Joe Paterno as Production of Biopic Begins

American Film Institute's 45th Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to Diane Keaton - Fixed Show

Al Pacino is an absolute legend in Hollywood with a number of classic roles in his storied acting career, and now he plans on adding to it as he gets set to play one of the most recognized college football coaches in history.

Former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno is being featured in an HBO biopic on his life and the 77-year-old Pacino is playing the lead role.

From the looks of the recent picture released, the make-up team has done a great job transforming him into Paterno.

“The film centers on Joe Paterno, who, after becoming the winningest coach in college football history, is embroiled in Penn State’s Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal, challenging his legacy and forcing him to face questions of institutional failure regarding the victims,” says HBO.

Paterno was dismissed by Penn State in 2011 in the wake of the Sandusky child sex abuse revelations. He died the following year in 2012.
